The Olympianist
To raise money for music and childrens' charities, Anthony - 'the Olympianist' - will cycle with piano 'in tow' from Land's End to John O'Groats to complete 1,200 miles in 21 days. With a piano trailing in his 'BeethoVAN' the avid cyclist will cover up to 100 miles a day, giving 27 concerts en route. The Herculean journey across Britain's hilly countryside will see Anthony ascend more than 20,000 metres – the equivalent of more than twice the elevation of Mt. Everest. He will perform in established venues and remote locations with his piano on a pop-up stage on the back of the BeethoVAN.
His piano odyssey encompasses concert venues, market squares, cliff-tops, quarries and fields. Highlights of the tour include a concert with the Manchester Camerata, a recital in the Market Square at Newbury Spring Festival, a cliff-top performance in Portland and a concert on the shores of Lake Windermere.

Ulverston Music Festival
Anthony founded the Ulverston International Music Festival in 2004 and it has grown in size and stature from four concerts in its inaugural year to over twenty events annually, including orchestral and choral concerts. A small town but big time festival: Steven Isserlis, Tasmin Little, Chloe Hanslip, Natalie Clein, Alina Ibragimova, Emma Johnson and Martin Roscoe are just some of the world class artists who have performed for us.
The main Festival takes place over one week in June and is complemented by a winter series of recitals and weekend master classes throughout the year.

Anthony has given four recitals at Wigmore Hall, appeared across the USA including at Carnegie Weill Recital Hall, toured South America and Japan, as well as performing chamber music at festivals in Europe including the Chelsea and Chichester Festivals, Bastad in Sweden, Ars Antonina in France, Mecklenburg in Germany, and Stift in Holland.
His discography includes 'Protégé' (Divine Art Records), the first coupling on CD of the Liszt and Reubke Sonatas. This unique recording was described in International Record Review as "magisterial", and received a Gramophone recommendation. Most recently a recording with Sarah-Jane Bradley of East European viola music was released on Naxos, as well as a live recording from the Kennedy Center in Washington DC with violinist Tamaki Kawakubo on Avex. Future recording plans include with Dimension Trio on the Champs Hill label, and a solo disc of Schumann's early works on Quartz.
An avid chamber musician, he recently joined Dimension Trio - winner of the prestigious Parkhouse award - who are a frequent visitor to festivals and orchestras across Europe. His regular duo partners have included clarinetist Emma Johnson, cellists Thomas Carroll, Alexander Chaushian and Natalie Clein, violist Sarah-Jane Bradley, violinist Chloe Hanslip, pianists Martin Roscoe and Kathryn Stott, and Japanese violinist Narimichi Kawabata with whom he has toured major concert halls in the Far East.
Highlights of upcoming engagements include an appearance with the English Chamber Orchestra at the Royal Festival Hall, Beethoven's Triple concerto with the Brighton Philharmonic, and a solo recital in Wigmore Hall's series.
A project in May 2012 sees him celebrating a special year for sport in Britain by cycling from Land's End to John O'Groats and giving a concert at the end of each day to raise money for charity. He has secured over thirty engagements – both solo and orchestral - including with the Manchester Camerata, and at the Newbury and Swaledale festivals. He will also perform outdoors in market squares on a specially adapted van which he has coined 'Van BeethoVan'
